I'm Renee Berg, founding Director of Operations for Wisconsin Student Success Initiative. I am a proud mom of two, and I’m a tax planning professional with 25+ years’ experience serving primarily low to moderate income families and small business clients.

I understand first-hand the vital role that proper planning plays in qualifying for short-term and long-term student financial aid. Furthermore, I understand how quickly student loan debt can add up and become a serious financial burden.

In my opinion, all students/parents deserve no-cost or low-cost access to unbiased professional planning tools and resources to help them plan for the future. Tools/resources that can help them explore various career options and determine their best plan of action to acquire the education, skills and experience local employers are looking for.

   Who or what exactly is  Wisconsin Student Success Initiative?

#1 - We educate families about WI’s Private School Choice tuition relief for qualifying students age 4-20.

   What is Wisconsin Private School Choice?

Wisconsin Private School Choice programming is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.  It provides qualifying students an opportunity to attend a participating private school of their choice at no cost.

In order to qualify initially, the student/family must meet certain age, prior school attendance, income and residency criteria.  Once a student is admitted to the program they usually are able to remain in the program through 12th grade unless a non-qualified residency or school change occurs.  Household income does not need to be proven every year...only on the student's first application.

Where is WI Student Success Initiative's main office located?

In order to better accommodate the variety of community event requests we receive, Wisconsin Student Success Initiative has decided to move its main office from Jackson, WI to Marsh Vue in Theresa, WI effective August 1, 2024.

This huge building stood abandoned for more than 15 years on the Highway 28/Mayville exit off Interstate Highway 41.  It has now been fully remodeled to serve as a combination event venue and shared work space overlooking a breath-taking outdoor scenery.
